In 1992, Mazda introduced the third-generation RX7, which was the most advanced and powerful RX7 yet. The third-generation RX7 featured a twin-turbocharged 1.3-liter rotary engine that produced 276 horsepower. The car also had an updated suspension system and larger brakes, making it even more capable on the track. The third-generation RX7 was produced until 2002, when Mazda discontinued the model.
