The Monaco Grand Prix has long held its place as one of Formula 1’s most iconic circuits—and now, a rare opportunity allows collectors to own a true piece of that legacy. Michael Schumacher’s legendary Monaco-winning 2001 Ferrari F2001, Chassis 211, is going up for auction tomorrow, May 24th, in a historic first-time sale held during Grand Prix weekend. Offered directly from the FORMULA 1 TAG HEUER GRAND PRIX DE MONACO 2025, Chassis 211 is more than just a car—it’s the undisputed Crown Jewel of Ferrari’s golden era.

The Ferrari F2001 Chassis 211 was a cornerstone of Schumacher’s and Ferrari’s dominant, record-breaking championship run at the dawn of the 21st century. At Monaco, Schumacher built an astonishing 18-second lead over second place—so comfortable, in fact, that he later recalled, “There is no pressure from anyone else, but you go for so long just worrying about reliability… I had a little chat with Ross [Brawn, Ferrari Technical Director], asking questions about other people, how they were doing in the race and so on. He said, ‘Please keep concentration.’” In true Schumacher fashion, he eased off near the end, allowing teammate Rubens Barrichello to close the gap and secure a Ferrari one-two finish. That victory helped solidify Ferrari’s championship momentum and ultimately led to the team clinching the Constructors’ Crown, while Schumacher secured the Drivers’ title—making Chassis 211 the only Ferrari chassis to directly contribute to both championships that season.

Originally set to be relegated to spare status after Monaco, Chassis 211 returned to action after issues with its sister car, Chassis 210. It was then pressed back into service at the Hungarian Grand Prix, where Schumacher piloted it to yet another victory. That triumph marked Schumacher as Ferrari’s first back-to-back World Champion since Alberto Ascari in 1952–53. Following the success of 2000, Ferrari repeated the rare feat of securing both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles in consecutive years.

Now the most coveted of all surviving F2001s, Chassis 211 has recently undergone a full overhaul at the Ferrari factory and has been brought back to running condition. New fuel tanks have already been ordered and paid for by the consignor and will be installed during the car’s next visit to the factory. Held for auction in the only place worthy of its rich racing and championship heritage, this Modena masterpiece offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own a pivotal piece of Ferrari and Formula 1 history.
