Acura is making 50 TLX Type S PMC Editions by hand, with each one finished in Gotham Gray matte paint, which is also the signature color of the NSX Type S supercar. The unique paint has a clear matte metallic finish that gives the TLX Type S a more menacing and aggressive look. These high-performance sedans will be produced at Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio, and they will be available at select dealerships this spring for $65,000.
The TLX Type S PMC Edition has some exterior design features that set it apart from the base TLX Type S. These include Berlina Black paint for the door handles and part of the lower side-sill garnish, Y-spoke 20-inch lightweight wheels finished in Berlina Black, a gloss carbon fiber decklid lip spoiler, carbon fiber rear diffuser, lower side sill garnish, and black-chrome quad exhaust finishers. The TLX Type S PMC Edition also comes with gloss black TLX, Type S, and SH-AWD exterior badging.
The unique interior of the TLX Type S PMC Edition is also what stands out from the regular TLX Type S, with carbon fiber interior trim panels, illuminated side sills, and premium floor mats that have Type S badges and colored accent binding. The Red Milano leather interior has black stitching and Ultrasuede® inserts. The lower console also has an individually numbered serial plaque that designates the TLX Type S PMC Edition as a limited-edition vehicle (1 of 50) that was handcrafted at the Performance Manufacturing Center.
The 2023 Gotham Gray TLX Type S PMC Edition is a limited-edition vehicle that follows in the footsteps of previous PMC Editions and the NSX supercar. Each vehicle goes through the same quality control process as the NSX, including a dyno check, paint inspection, and rough-road simulation. To protect the paint during shipping, each PMC Edition is wrapped in a specially designed car cover and transported to Acura dealerships via enclosed, single-car carriers.
