The wait is over—the latest 911 GT3 (992.2) has finally been revealed, and it arrives with not just one, but two exciting trim levels to get behind. Porsche enthusiasts can choose between the track-focused version with a signature fixed rear wing or the sleek and refined Touring Package, offering an understated look without compromising on performance. Both models showcase Porsche’s dedication to blending racing DNA with everyday usability, celebrating 25 years of the GT3 legacy.
Both models feature a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing 502 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque, capable of revving up to an impressive 9,000 rpm. The engine is paired with either a seven-speed PDK or a six-speed GT Sport manual transmission, both boasting an eight percent shorter final drive ratio for improved acceleration. The 911 GT3 reaches 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds with PDK and achieves a top track speed of 193 mph.
The exterior of the new GT3 is optimized for performance with a redesigned front diffuser, spoiler lip, and underbody air guides that enhance downforce and airflow. Teardrop-shaped trailing arms on the front axle increase stability and brake cooling, while modifications like the anti-dive system reduce pitching during braking. Lightweight materials, such as CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced plastic) and magnesium wheels, are available through the Weissach Package and the new Lightweight Package for the Touring variant, emphasizing the GT3’s commitment to precision and weight reduction.
Amongst the exterior finishes, Porsche has also focused on enhancing the driver experience with options like the new lightweight carbon fiber bucket seats, featuring a folding backrest for added convenience and track utility creating a unique blend of modern technology with classic elements.
With the debut of the new 911 GT3 model(s), Porsche has combined racing heritage with day-to-day usability, offering an array of customizable packages and options to suit driver preferences. With its finely tuned handling and iconic flat-six engine, the 992.2 GT3 represents the ultimate evolution of Porsche’s performance-focused legacy.
