Porsche celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 911 with a special edition, the 911 S/T, offering maximum driving enjoyment. Limited to 1,963 units, it combines the high-revving 4.0-liter boxer engine from the 911 GT3 RS with a manual gearbox and lightweight clutch for the first time. The 911 S/T delivers 386 kW (525 PS) of power, complemented by a resolutely lightweight construction and an agile running-gear setup.

To honor the iconic 911 sports car, the engineers in Weissach designed the 911 S/T as a purist sports car dedicated to sheer driving enjoyment. It unites the strengths of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and the 911 GT3 RS, creating a unique combination of agility and driving dynamics. The optional Heritage Design Package draws inspiration from the racing version of the 911 S from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The lightweight construction of the 911 S/T contributes to its agile and direct handling. Carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used for the front bonnet, roof, front wings, and doors, alongside magnesium wheels, a PCCB system, a lithium-ion starter battery, and lightweight glass as standard. The car achieves a DIN kerb weight of just 1,380 kg, making it 40 kg lighter than a manual 911 GT3 Touring.

Porsche engineers developed a new lightweight clutch exclusively for the 911 S/T, reducing the rotating mass by 10.5 kg. Combined with a six-speed manual transmission with a shorter gear ratio than the 911 GT3, the high-revving engine delivers heightened responsiveness and dynamics, propelling the 911 S/T from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h. The standard lightweight sports exhaust system enhances the exhilarating driving experience.

The aerodynamics of the 911 S/T are optimized for public roads, featuring a Gurney flap on the extending rear spoiler and 20-inch lightweight center-locking magnesium wheels at the front and 21-inch at the rear. Ultra-high-performance tires ensure mechanical grip, and CFRP full bucket seats come as standard, providing a compelling driving environment.

I don’t think it’s a secret that the team here at Motofutura have a small obsession with Porsche’s line of vehicles. The 911 and more specifically this R/T is an iconic car that perfectly embodies the essence of the Porsche brand. I find the manual gearbox to be a standout feature, adding a timeless and rewarding element to the driving experience that Porsche has masterfully crafted over the years. The limited production of the vehicle adds exclusivity, and I appreciate how Porsche has managed to keep the design simple yet tasteful in all the right ways. It’s a car that represents the best of Porsche’s engineering and design, making it a true classic that stands the test of time.
