Rise & Fall
Despite its captivating design and pop culture exposure, the DeLorean faced numerous challenges that hindered its success in the market. Financial issues, production delays, and quality control problems plagued the company. Additionally, the car’s underwhelming performance and relatively high price tag further alienated potential buyers. The DeLorean struggled to find its niche in a market saturated with established sports car brands.
Unfortunately the charismatic entrepreneur behind the company, also faced legal troubles that would contribute to the downfall of the DeLorean Motor Company. Production of the DeLorean came to an abrupt halt, and the company filed for bankruptcy.

I owned a 1981 Delorean for many years at the early height of its popularity. Enjoyed it’s popularity and notority but ultimately sold it due to it’s frequent mechanical problems and breakdowns on the road. Did have my share of fun with it while I owned it nevertheless. Even went to the auction at the Orange County plant and purchased all of the last “fix-it notes” from the special problem garage where the cars from the dealerships came in to be repaired. Even git a set of tiny authentic “hub caps” as a small memory if the car as well as a complete garage manual from the shop there.
