Koenigsegg has revealed a brand-new hypercar ahead of the Goodwood Festival of Speed: Sadiar’s Spear. The name might seem unusual at first—outside the conventional naming strategies most manufacturers follow—but it holds deep personal meaning for Christian von Koenigsegg. Just as the Koenigsegg Jesko was named after his father, Sadiar’s Spear is named after the last racehorse Jesko von Koenigsegg competed with in 1976. It’s only fitting that such a name now graces a peak-performance vehicle.

At first glance, it’s clear that Koenigsegg’s advanced CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) team has meticulously optimized the airflow over, around, and underneath the vehicle. The result? Maximum cooling and relentless downforce. A top-mounted, active double-blade rear wing enhances cornering traction at high speed, balanced by a front-end aero package that includes larger canards, enhanced hood vents, and refined wheel arch louvres. A specially designed rear hood scoop boosts engine performance, while an integrated Gurney flap on the front hood contributes to both cooling and downforce.

Powering this track-focused machine is a twin-turbocharged V8 engine mated to Koenigsegg’s revolutionary flywheel-free Light Speed Transmission (LST). On standard unleaded fuel, the engine produces 1,300 hp—but with E85, it cranks out an astonishing 1,625 hp. A decade after the game-changing Koenigsegg One:1, Sadiar’s Spear pushes the power-to-weight benchmark even further, again surpassing the legendary 1:1 ratio. Koenigsegg remains the world’s only premier manufacturer of fully homologated road cars that achieve this feat.

Inside, the car embraces its track-focused identity. A minimalist center console and newly designed carbon fiber seats make it clear: this is a track weapon first and a road car second. Gear changes are handled exclusively via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Yet, in typical Koenigsegg fashion, performance doesn’t come at the cost of innovation or comfort. Features like the steering-mounted SmartCluster display, SmartCenter infotainment system, USB connectivity, wireless charging, Koenigsegg’s signature Autoskin system, and birds-eye parking assist all remain.

Expertly crafted to dominate both track and road, Sadiar’s Spear shattered the lap record previously set by the Jesko Attack by an impressive 1.1 seconds. With production capped at just 30 units—all of which sold out instantly at its private unveiling—Sadiar’s Spear stands as a truly iconic addition to Koenigsegg’s legendary lineup.
