Porsche has officially partnered with WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, further solidifying a connection that has been growing since 2011 when the iconic circuit began hosting Rennsport Reunion. This partnership strengthens the already strong bond between Porsche and Laguna Seca, making the legendary brand synonymous with the renowned racetrack.

As part of this sponsorship, Porsche will support Friends of Laguna Seca in their mission to revitalize the Raceway and Recreation Area. Additionally, a Porsche Driving Center (PDC) is set to open at Laguna Seca in 2026. This facility will offer a range of driver training programs, from introductory courses for beginners to advanced instruction for those seeking to enhance their on-track skills.

“Many of the greatest moments in motorsport history have happened at Laguna Seca,” said Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America (PCNA). “We are excited to be part of the track’s exciting plans for the future, giving the next generation of enthusiasts a chance to get behind the wheel of a Porsche.”

Porsche’s connection with Laguna Seca is more than just historical. In 2022, Porsche celebrated its 600th and 601st IMSA victories at the track, a testament to its racing pedigree. The Taycan Turbo GT also set a record at Laguna Seca as the fastest electric series-production car, with a blistering lap time of 1:27.87. The 2023 Rennsport Reunion 7 attracted over 91,000 attendees, making it the largest Rennsport event to date. With such a rich shared history, the partnership between Porsche and Laguna Seca is a natural evolution, fostering a community that surrounds the racetrack and the Porsche brand that will last for generations.

The sponsorship launched with Porsche serving as the official safety car for the TireRack.com Monterey SportsCar Championship IMSA race weekend earlier this May. This new chapter aims to not only enhance the Porsche experience at Laguna Seca but also ensure the long-term sustainability of this iconic raceway, benefiting enthusiasts and the local community alike.
