The third-generation Supra was introduced in 1986 and was a significant departure from the previous models. The styling was much more rounded, and the car was wider and lower than before. The engine was upgraded to a 3.0-liter inline-six that produced 230 horsepower and 246 lb-ft of torque. The Supra was available with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
