Building upon the success of the base model, the V-Spec variant was introduced, taking performance to a higher level. The V-Spec (Victory Specification) featured improved brakes, stiffer suspension, and a rear limited-slip differential, enhancing its track-oriented capabilities while maintaining its street prowess. With a distinctive carbon fiber hood, the V-Spec was lighter and more agile, cementing its status as a sought-after collectible for enthusiasts.

Under the hood, the V-Spec retained the same 2.6-liter twin-turbocharged RB26DETT inline-six engine found in the base model. However, it received minor tweaks to its engine management system and exhaust to unleash a touch more power and torque, providing a total output of around 280 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque.

Nissan’s pursuit of motorsport excellence led to the creation of the V-Spec N1, designed specifically for motorsport homologation (meeting car manufacturer standards) purposes. It boasted increased engine performance and upgraded internals, including N1 turbos and piston cooling oil jets. The V-Spec N1’s enhanced power output of around 300 horsepower made it a dominant force on the track and a highly sought-after model among racing enthusiasts.

To ensure the engine could handle the rigors of motorsport competition, the V-Spec N1 was equipped with upgraded internals, including strengthened pistons, connecting rods, and a reinforced cylinder block. These enhancements improved the engine’s reliability and endurance during high-stress driving situations, making it an ideal choice for professional racing teams.

Introduced in 2000 this variation delivers a slight upgrade under the hood. The V-Spec 2 retained the same potent RB26DETT engine found in the previous models, producing around 315 horsepower. However, Nissan fine-tuned the engine management system and exhaust to optimize power delivery and responsiveness, ensuring smooth and precise acceleration. The V-Spec 2 featured lightweight forged BBS wheels, improved aerodynamics, and stiffer suspension for enhanced cornering performance. Its adjustable rear wing provided improved downforce and stability, making it an appealing option for both track enthusiasts and street drivers alike.
