Designed for inclusion in Gran Turismo 7 from January 2024, this concept exemplifies Genesis‘ signature Athletic Elegance design philosophy. Under the hood, the concept boasts a front mid-mounted Lambda 11 V6 engine, electrically assisted by Genesis E-SC technology, yielding a total of 1071hp and 986 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid race-spec drivetrain combines the V6’s 870hp and 790 lb-ft with an additional 201hp and 196 lb-ft from the Yasa E motor. Achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.34, the car emphasizes high-performance aerodynamics. Inside, the cabin prioritizes the pilot’s focus on the racetrack, featuring a digital panoramic interface and a Beauty of White Space attitude.

The Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Gran Turismo Concept has left me utterly impressed, seamlessly blending futuristic design with a hint of familiarity and an unmistakable sporty allure. The bold, aggressive body lines not only convey a progressive aesthetic but also evoke a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of classic sports cars. Does anyone wish that this wasn’t for a game, but rather a profound revealing for Genesis! In an automotive landscape increasingly dominated by electric vehicles, the hybrid drivetrain of the X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept emerges as a welcome deviation, showcasing that innovation can coexist harmoniously with exceptional performance. It’s a thrilling reminder that, even in the age of EV prominence, the allure of powerful gas-powered vehicles is still very much alive.
