Bad Boys (1995): Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6
Directed by Michael Bay, Bad Boys follows two Miami narcotics detectives, Marcus Burnett (played by Martin Lawerence) and Mike Lowery (played by Will Smith) where they investigate the theft of confiscated drugs from their police station. As they try to recover the drugs before Internal Affairs shuts down their division, the detectives find themselves caught up in a dangerous and comedic whirlwind of crime and chaos. One of the more iconic moments from the film, we see the protagonists driving the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 chasing down a 427 Cobra. The 427 Cobra’s driver was about to escape if not for the Porsche’s 911 performance. The detectives forced the 427 Cobra to crash into a concrete barrier and was able to get the villain.
Will Smith has mentioned that the Porsche featured in the Bad Boys movie is a limited edition vehicle. In a 2014 interview with Car and Driver magazine, the film’s director, Michael Bay, disclosed that the car used in the movie was among the 1,427 units of the Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 model produced. Michael Bay also owned the Porsche model that was driven by Will Smith, before Michael Bay gifted it to a friend for $60K. Later, Michael Bay found out that his personal Porsche was sold for a staggering $1.3 million.
