5. “Porsche 901” doesn’t have the same ring like the “911” does, doesn’t it?
Porsche initially launched its luxury sports car model as the ‘901’ in 1964. However, a legal challenge from Peugeot, which had exclusive rights to three-digit model names with a zero in the middle, forced Porsche to make a change. Consequently, to avoid legal issues and restrictions on selling the model in France, Porsche rebranded the 901 as the now-famous Porsche 911.

4. Porsche takes the quality in-house treatment seriously!
The Porsche 911 is exclusively manufactured at Porsche’s factory in Stuttgart, Germany. This facility produces about 110 Porsche 911 models daily to meet global demand. Each year, over 35,000 units are meticulously crafted and shipped worldwide, ensuring that the high standards of quality are consistently maintained.

Before any Porsche model goes into production, it undergoes extensive testing to ensure its reliability and performance. This includes high-speed runs, extreme weather conditions, and durability tests. Remarkably, every Porsche is tested at its top speed, whether it’s a Boxster or a 911 Turbo, guaranteeing that each car can meet the rigorous demands of its design specifications.

2. Was the Fastest Lap on Nurburgring
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Manthey-Racing held the record for the fastest road-legal production car, completing a lap in 6:43.300 seconds on Nurburgring. There should be an asterisk for the newest lap record as the 911 GT2RS was bested by a hybrid powerplant. Record stood until October 2022, when it was surpassed by the Mercedes-AMG F1 Hypercar (Hybrid powered 1.6 Petrol Engine in tandem with 4 Electric motors).
