Exclusive Look at the JDM Cars Catching Eyes at SEMA 2024

It’s that time of the year again, when all the tuners, builders, and shops bring out their best to showcase at the SEMA Show 2024. The floors opened up on November 5th this year with so many cars and trucks populating the massive grounds that it would be a disservice to showcase all the outstanding vehicles in one single article. Instead, the focus will be on the amazing JDM builds that were being showcased this week. Among the wide variety of JDM on display, the Toyota GR86 and new Toyota Supra proved to be the most popular platforms to build off of, with several unique examples of each showcasing the near infinite customization that JDM as a whole is known for.

One of the show-stopping Toyotas was this Celica GT-Four ST185 inspired GR86 built by Evasive Motorsports and showcased at the Toyota booth. Complete with the old-school livery and rally lights, this GR86 is more than just looks. Under the hood is the turbo-charged 1.6 liter 3-cylinder engine from the Corolla GR that sends power to ALL four corners. Can’t have a proper rally car without AWD, can you?

Over at the Meguiar’s booth, the guys at Throtl unveiled their Nissan Skyline R34 drag build, made to look like the 2 Fast 2 Furious Skyline. This started as a regular GT and then was converted using GT-R subframe parts and a GT chassis that was fortified and converted to GT-R spec.

An unlikely combination brought together by former Top Gear host Rutledge Wood, this GR Supra was done up in that iconic Superbird color scheme to celebrate the addition of Richard Petty as a Toyota brand ambassador.

The Skyline professionals over at Garage Yoshida and Built by Legends graced us with another one of his beautiful restorations. Yoshida and company have dedicated years to keeping as many skylines on the road as possible, resulting in immense knowledge on the platform and the ability to completely strip an R34 down to its chassis in as little as six hours (with help from the wife, of course). It’s no surprise that when Garage Yoshida and Built by Legends brings a fresh Skyline to a show, it’ll be the cleanest, best running skyline in the entire show.
