The Nissan 240SX S13, introduced in the U.S. in 1989, came equipped with two distinct engine options. The base model featured a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated inline-four engine known as the KA24E, producing around 140 horsepower and 152 lb-ft of torque, thanks to a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) configuration.

Meanwhile, the sportier 240SX SE trim boasted a 2.4-liter dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) inline-four engine, designated as the KA24DE, which generated approximately 155 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque. This DOHC setup delivered improved high-end power and engine response, enhancing the driving experience. It’s important to note that the Japanese version, known as the Silvia, featured a variety of engines, including a turbocharged 1.8-liter and a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter designated as the SR20DE or SR20DET.
